Whereas there have existed Interim County Committees of the Independence Party of New York in the Counties of Kings, Queens and the Bronx in New York City, and
Whereas these Interim County Committees are sub-committees of the State Committee of the Independence Party of New York, and
Whereas it is set forth in the Rules of the State Committee of the Independence Party of New York that the State Party Committee shall, after an affirmative vote of the Executive Committee, have the right power and authority to invalidate, dissolve, and disband any interim county organization;
THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE FINDS AND DETERMINES AS FOLLOWS:
1. The leadership of the Independence Party in the Counties of Kings, Queens and the Bronx is and has been affiliated with the New York City based organization operated by Dr. Lenora Fulani, and Dr. Fred Newman, which has been exposed by the media as promoting anti-Semitic ideas and engaging in activities which have spurred criminal investigations, and
2. The leadership of the Independence Party in the Counties of Kings, Queens and the Bronx is and has refused to disassociate itself from the New York City based organization operated by Dr. Lenora Fulani, and Dr. Fred Newman, and
3. More specifically, the organizations operated by Drs. Fulani and Newman have espoused anti - Semitism and publicly proclaimed intolerable teachings including that "Jews were mass murderers of people of color", and
4. The leadership of the Independence Party in the Counties of Kings, Queens and the Bronx has refused to disassociate themselves from these teachings and statements, or to disassociate themselves from Drs. Fulani and Newman, and
5. Anti-Semitism, racism, and the politics of hate are antithetical to the principals of the Independence Party, and
6. It is determined that those in sympathy with Anti-Semitism, racism, and the politics of hate, are not in sympathy with the principals of the Independence Party and in advancing such outrageous ideas, are acting in detriment to the interests of the Independence Party, and
7. The Independence Party shall have nothing to do with individuals and organizations advancing Anti-Semitism, racism, and the politics of hate, and that all steps to separate our party from such repugnant ideas and teachings must be taken forthwith,BE IT RESOLVED, that the Interim County Organizations of Kings, Queens and the Bronx County are invalidated, dissolved and disbanded, and
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED THAT, all political functions of the Independence Party within Brooklyn (Kings), Queens, and the Bronx, including, but not limited to, the Authorization and/or Nomination of Candidates for public offices all or partially lying within the Counties of Kings, Queens and the Bronx, together with such public offices which may include all of the counties within the City of New York, will hence forth, pursuant to the rules of the State Independence Party, and until the election, constitution and organization of county committees within these counties, or the State Party authorized establishment of new Interim County Organizations within these counties, revert to, and fall within the ordinary powers of, The Executive Committee of the Independence Party of New York, and
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED THAT, this resolution shall have the full force and effect of a party rule, and
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED THAT, the Chairman and Secretary of the Independence Party of the State of New York shall cause a true copy of this resolution to be filed with the New York State Board of Elections, the New York City Board of Elections and any other appropriate governmental agency, and
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED THAT, the Chairman and Secretary of the Independence Party of the State of New York are hereby authorized to take any and all necessary actions to implement the terms of this resolution, and
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED THAT, this resolution shall be effective immediately and is referred to the State Committee of the New York State Independence Party for final approval pursuant to the party rules, and
This resolution being voted on and adopted at a meeting of the Executive Committee of the State Committee of the Independence Party of New York on February 4, 2006 at 10 A.M. at the Best Western Albany Airport Inn, 200 Wolf Road, Colonie, N.Y.
